What can a Nurse Practitioner do?
Nurse practitioners are highly skilled and experienced clinicians who have had to complete further study at masters level to become endorsed and legally achieve the title. The title of Nurse Practitioner is a protected title within AHPRA and can only be used by suitably qualified and endorsed clinicians. This enables them to diagnose, order pathology and imaging and prescribe pharmaceutical therapy.
Clinic Philosophy
We believe that not all people wish to be treated the way that traditional medical model has developed, particularly in rural areas. At Fox Healthcare, you will be heard. We treat the patient as if they were our own family and decision making is shared between the clinician and you, the patient.
- All regular appointments for patients with a valid Medicare card will be bulk-billed.
- Some pathology and imaging items may attract out of pocket expenses, further information can be provided during consultation.
Services we offer
- Management of acute and chronic health conditions for adults and older people.
- Medical certificates.
- Script repeats.
- Referrals to specialists.
- Pathology or imaging referrals (some MBS limitations apply).
- Telehealth appointments can be arranged for existing patients, this can be arranged via reception or booking service.
Scope of Practice
- All NP’s are legally required to work within a “scope of practice” which requires them to practice within their speciality.
- Due to these limitations, our service is currently unable to provide care for maternity, gynaecology or paediatric patients.
- As our service expands we are hoping to add these patient cohorts to our clinic.
- Fox Healthcare is fully insured and is a certified clinic with Medicare Australia. This allows us to utilise direct electronic billing whilst bulk billing, increasing efficiency to spend more time with patients.

About our NP
- Mr Tim Fox, BNurs (Monash), MNPractst (UQ), has worked directly in healthcare within various roles for over 20 years.
- His clinical interests include heart failure management, diabetes, pain management, men’s health, palliative care and weight loss promotion.
- Tim is currently employed at Latrobe Regional Hospital and consults at various aged care facilities across Gippsland, as well as the fox healthcare clinic.
Clinic Location
Conveniently located within the BUPA aged Care Facility in Traralgon (on map in red), at 96 Park Lane.
Our consulting room is within the reception area of the BUPA Aged Care building, once you progress through the front sliding doors we are located on the right.
